Winners of Photography Competition “Winter in my City”
Maidan (Gorer Math), Kolkata. It was a chilly sunday morning the father was a regular jogger who practices yoga on the same spot everyday. On that day he was accompanied with his son. Son was laughing and telling to his father that his yoga pose was not that right. Misty fog distinguishing background from foreground. The upright building ‘The 42’ acting as an element between son and father clearly separating mood and generation.
This pictures is taken at Maidan, kolkata. In a winter Morning Fog covered the whole area in Maidan, the visual level is too much low and some Hawkers and some morning walkers are enjoying this essence of nature. The visuality and the deepness of the Fog along with the old tree and with some people it is a pure mixture of relationship between man and nature. Thus, this attracted me for capturing this image. Camera model – Nikon coolpixp530, F-stop-f/4.7, Exposure time – 1/200sec, ISO speed- ISO-360, Exposure bias-0step, Focal length-45mm, Max aperture-3.2, Metering mode-Pattern.
I have taken the photo at Maidan in the city Calcutta. A group of children running in a foggy morning through Maidan during the sunrise. I tried to capture the emotion of the children who all are running in queue in Maidan. Another reason I found to frame it because of the dense fog at the background. EXIF Details of the Image:-
Device:- CANON EOS 700D
Shutter Speed:- 1/200
Focal Length:- 27mm
Special Mention of Photography Competition “Winter in my City”
The picture was taken in Newtown Kolkata near Ecopark. In this picture, two peoples are flaming themselves in a foggy winter morning. One day in a cold winter morning I was passing through the area and found that few peoples were flaming themselves. That time I thought, this activity or the situation is a the best for explaining a winter morning. Because normally peoples flame themselves in winter session. I liked the situation and which forced me to shoot this image.
This photo has been taken at Bagbazar Ghat, Kolkata (popularly known as Sarada Maa er ghat in Bengali) on a Sunday early in the morning in January 2018. This photo tells a story of an old person wearing winter apparels while enjoying the warmth of early morning sunshine. The foundation of Maa Sarada ghat which is a very old one mingles with the mood of old person sitting idly while enjoying the early morning of winter. The flowing riverwater of Ganges and haze backdrop of bank on the other side in presence of flying bird depicts a cosy atmosphere of the city Kolkata.
This photo was taken in Maidan, Kolkata, West Bengal. It was Sunday and I was there to capture morning stories of winter in the city of joy. In winter days the field of maidan was wrapped by fog and nothing is visible as I reached 5.30 am in the morning. It was completely dark and I was waiting for the tram to come out from fog. It was the first time I was experimenting with low light photography. I clicked the picture with ISO – 5000, Shutter Speed – 1/250 and F – 4. I have been trying to take the picture of a tram in the foggy morning rom last 2 years but I didn’t get the perfect shot. I am a frequent visitor of Maidan in winter season and I love to capture trams in the foggy morning as I have seen very limited pictures of tram in the foggy morning.. I was lucky to get the perfect shot in the dark with my Nikon .
