Welcome to the March 2015 Calcutta Street Photography Competition.
Theme: “Commercial / Business Establishments”. The entries we look forward to is “Street Photography” having a presence of Commercial / Business Establishments in Calcutta.
Judge: Celebrated Photojournalist Mr. Bikas Das will curate the Competition. He will choose the 3 Best Entries and 7 Special Mentions which would be a part of the Archive with due credit to the Photographer.
Mr. Bikas Das is a self-taught professional based at Calcutta. He is a reputed and senior Photojournalist working for the Associated Press/AP since 1989. He prefers to shoot people in natural condition. Anthropology and History are his favorite subjects. Trained mountaineer, loves expedition and high altitude trekking, but finds no time nowadays. Also loves travel and work in rural areas. Exhibitor, Judge and Lecturer. Won Nikon awards two times. Olympus award, UNESCO award 5 times. Asahi Shimbun 4 times. Medals, trophies and other awards worldwide. Works exhibited in 30 countries. Conferred honorary fellow, Hon. FCOS from FotoClub of Sibiu, Romania for excellence in Black & White prints.
Eligibility: If you have photographed Calcutta, you are welcome to join irrespective of your place of Residency
Entry: 1 Photograph per Participant
File Format: JPG – 1024 px on the longest side at 72 dpi without Watermarks and Borders. (Please ensure File Size is within 1 Mb)
File Renaming: FirstName_LastName (e.g. Purnendu_Sengupta.jpg)
Post Processing: Alteration of elements and unnatural processing (including HDR & Selective Coloring) to be avoided. Adjustment of Brightness, Contrast, Color Saturation, Sharpening, marginal Cropping and limited post processing is acceptable. Monochrome is also welcome.
Submission Period: 25th March, 2015 (Wednesday) to 5th April, 2015 (Sunday).
Result Declaration: Tentative 15th April, 2015 (Wednesday)
